FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE-  — More than 100 trucks carrying humanitarian aid entered Gaza on Sunday, marking the first major delivery in weeks, according to UN emergency relief coordinator Tom Fletcher.

Fletcher said initial reports suggest Israel has eased some movement restrictions, allowing aid convoys to reach civilians amid growing international pressure and reports of widespread hunger.

“This is progress,” Fletcher said, “but vast amounts of aid are still needed to prevent famine and a catastrophic health crisis.”

The deliveries included food and medical supplies and followed calls from multiple governments and humanitarian organizations urging Israel to open access to the besieged territory.
