HAS THERE EVER been a red carpet look that Cate Blanchett didn’t get right? I can’t think of one. And with her recycling of past jewels in recent years, she has become even more of a style setting star. At the 2024 Venice Film Festival, she didn’t disappoint, wearing different versions of pearls at two events.
I loved the Louis Vuitton Ear climbers by Francesca Amfitheatrof that wrapped all the way up her ear with large champagne pearls at the bottom. They added an edge to her black velvet Armani Privé suit, which was draped with multiple strands of pearls down her back.
She also recycled the pearls she first wore to the premiere of The Apprentice at the Cannes Film Festival, which she wore lower down with a black gown. For the premiere of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice in Venice, she wore the same Louis Vuitton high jewelry pearl and diamond necklace around her shoulders with an Armani Privé sparkling champagne colored gown.
Her commitment to sustainability has produced some trendworthy looks and I, for one, can’t wait to see her come awards season.
