Battushig Batbold Elected as Chairman of the Culture Committee of the Olympic Council of Asia

On September 8, 2024, the 44th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) took place in New Delhi, India.

During the Assembly, elections for the members of the OCA Executive Board for 2024-2028 were held.  Representatives from 45 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) participated in a secret ballot. As a result, Randhir Singh, supported by 44 NOCs, was elected as the OCA President for a four-year term. Mr. Randhir Singh, aged 77, a five-time Olympian and four-time Asian Games participant, has served as an OCA Acting President since 2021, as a Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) from 2001-2014, and as an IOC Honorary Member since 2014.  

At the Assembly, the Chairs of the OCA Standing Committees were elected. Battushig Batbold, IOC Member and the Chair of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee, was elected as the Chair of the OCA Culture Committee for the upcoming four years.

In alignment with the OCA Constitution, elections were also held for the members of the Executive Board and the Chair and members of the Ethics Committee. The Assembly discussed the report on “Hangzhou 2022” Asian Games and updates on preparations for the “Aichi-Nagoya 2026” Asian Games by the Coordination Committee. Additionally, the flag for the 2025 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games was officially handed over to Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the host city.
