In a significant bureaucratic development, Tuhin Kanta Pandey, currently Secretary of the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) and holding additional charge as Secretary of the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), has been appointed as the Union Finance Secretary, succeeding TV Somanathan.
Parth Gautam, an IRS officer from the 2014 batch, has been designated as the Private Secretary to the Minister of State for Education and Development of the North Eastern Region until July 29, 2028. This marks the maximum permissible tenure of seven years away from his cadre.
Pavitra Kumar (IRS, 2013) has been appointed as the Private Secretary to the Minister of State for Cooperation for five years, while Kamal Singh Choudhary (IDAS, 2012) has joined the CBI as an SP for four years.
Anupam Chandra (IOFS, 2000), serving as the Common CVO for National Projects Construction Ltd. (NPCC) and Water & Power Consultancy Service Ltd. (WAPCOS) in Delhi, has had his tenure extended for two more years, until October 7, 2026.
Mukesh Bahadur Singh (IRPS, 2008) has been appointed as Private Secretary to the Union Minister of State for Housing & Urban Affairs, with a tenure lasting until September 8, 2027, or until further orders.
In addition, Armstrong Pame (IAS, 2009), currently Director in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, has been shifted laterally to the Department of School Education and Literacy for a term extending until April 17, 2027.

Meanwhile, Sridhar Babu Addanki (IAS, 2008), Executive Director of the Tobacco Board in Guntur, has received a six-month extension, extending his tenure to seven years and six months. Roop Kishor (IOFS, 2004), CVO at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre.
