The Hugo Keenan interview: ‘I’m not over the World Cup yet, the European finals, the Olympics hurt’

In his first interview since the Olympic Games, Hugo Keenan tells Rúaidhrí O’Connor that he has no regrets about his decision to go for gold with the Sevens squad

Hugo Keenan says he isn’t “a tattoo guy” and he won’t be inking the Olympic rings on his torso. The scar tissue will serve as a reminder of his latest Paris heartbreak.

Not that he has regrets about his decision to go for gold with the Ireland Sevens squad. He’s fully aware there are no guarantees in the sport he plays and hopes the experience will stand to him longer than the disappointment lingers.
