Top 5 Must-Watch College Football Games of Week 3 Schedule

Somehow we are already in Week 3 of the new college football season, putting the action in the thick of it all. We have seen some great games, upsets, and matchups that will have ramifications on the College Football Playoff down the line.

Teams are starting to place themselves into the contender status, even if it’s still very early on in the year. Heading into Week 3, we have some incredible matchups to watch this weekend.

But which ones are the best to look out for? Here are the top five must-watch games on the Week 3 slate of college football this weekend.

5. Washington State @ Washington

The battle for the Apple Cup takes center stage this weekend, with both teams fighting for bragging rights. This is the first matchup that won’t be played under the Pac-12 designation with the Huskies now playing in the Big Ten.

But even with this, both sides will be looking to take one another down. Both teams enter this game with a record of 2-0, giving each an opportunity to stay undefeated on the year while hurting the other’s chances through the season.

4. No. 5 Ole Miss @ Wake Forst

We have a classic SEC vs ACC matchup this weekend, with the Rebels heading to Winston-Salem. Wake Forest is coming off a bad loss to Virginia last week and will be looking to make some noise with the big upset.

Ole Miss on the other hand is trying to continue their dominance this season and build upon their strong year. This could be one of their best teams in years so making sure to take care of business against Wake Forest early will be crucial. The last thing Ole Miss wants is to let the Demon Deacons fans get rowdy from the jump.

3. No. 3 Alabama @ Wisconsin

While many may believe this game could be over by halftime, it’s rare to see Alabama head out of Tuscaloosa for a non-SEC matchup. They head to Camp Randall Stadium, known for their loud atmosphere over the years.

While the Badgers haven’t proved anything this season, they are normally a tough challenge for any team due to their running game and defense. The Crimson Tide will have to find a way to get out of Madison with a win, otherwise, their path forward could be rocky. Wisconsin has a chance to grab a massive statement win at home in front of its loyal fanbase.

2. No. 9 Oregon vs Oregon State

Much like the Washington State vs Washington matchup, we get an old rivalry that no longer resides in the Pac-12. The formerly called “Civil War” heads to Corvallis for another round of this contest.

The Ducks haven’t looked great this season, struggling to put away both Idaho and Boise State so far. On the other hand, the Beavers have looked very good, albeit against San Diego State and Idaho St. But if the trends continue, the Ducks could heavily be on upset alert this weekend against their inter-state rivals.

1. No. 24 Boston College @ No. 6 Missouri

This is the only game between two ranked teams on the schedule this week, post-Friday, giving it some meaning. It’s another SEC vs ACC game with the Eagles heading to Columbia to take on the Tigers.

Boston College has looked impressive so far, upsetting Florida State and shutting out Duquesne by a score of 56-0. If they can get a road win over a top-10-ranked SEC team, the Eagles could make some real noise this season. Missouri will look to keep things rolling and defend home field before they jump into their heavy SEC schedule next week.
