BOSTON – The Boston University men’s ice hockey team was selected second in the Hockey East Coaches’ Preseason Poll, the league announced on Monday.

BU earned 99 points and one first-place vote to slot just 10 points back of defending regular-season champion Boston College. Providence was third with 88 points and the remaining first-place vote, followed by Maine (83 points), UMass (72), Northeastern (67), New Hampshire (58), UConn (47), UMass Lowell (40), Merrimack (27) and Vermont (25).

The Terriers return 16 letter winners from last year’s squad that advanced to the Frozen Four for a second straight season, including Hockey East All-Stars Tom Willander and Mathieu Caron. BU went 28-10-2 in head coach Jay Pandolfo’s second year at the helm, including nine wins against top-10 opponents.

BU will begin the 2024-25 campaign with four straight home games at Agganis Arena, including the season opener against Holy Cross on Oct. 5. Fans can purchase season tickets by clicking here.
