AirAsia Thailand launches direct flights from Hyderabad to Bangkok and Chennai to Phuket, enhancing connectivity between India and Thailand.

INDIA- AirAsia Thailand continues with its expansion in India with the introduction of direct flights from Hyderabad to Bangkok as well as Chennai to Phuket.

The new flight services, set to take off on 27 October 2024 for Hyderabad and 30 Oct 2024 for Chennai, will enable travellers from two of India’s key cities to fly directly to Thailand. The Hyderabad – Bangkok route will kick off with 4 flights weekly, while Chennai-Phuket will be 3 flights weekly.

Ms. Tansita Akraritpirom, Head of Commercial, Thai AirAsia, said “AirAsia is reaffirming its commitment in the Indian market by expanding its network to 14 routes with the addition of these two new routes, both of which serve as strategic cities in southern India that bear immense tourism potential for both countries.

“We have seen considerable overall growth in the international sector – this is in part due to positive measures by the government such as visa free entry which have made travel easier and more cost effective, creating an opportunity for travellers to explore new experiences in different countries. We have seen overwhelming response from our Indian guests, looking to explore international destinations as well as visitors from those countries coming to Thailand. Having restored our capacity close to our pre pandemic levels, AirAsia Thailand is well-positioned to cater to the increasing demand.”
