Monomoy’s Emery Cappallo headlines field hockey players of the week

Kacey Curran, Durfee — Helping power the Hilltoppers to a 4-1 start, the senior scored nine goals over three games, including four-goal performances against Brockton and Bridgewater-Raynham.

Abbie Allen, Ipswich — The junior goaltender made a staggering 31 saves in a 5-0 loss to Newburyport, then followed it up with another strong performance Monday night in a 0-0 draw against Lynnfield.

Emery Cappallo, Monomoy — The sophomore tallied six goals in two games for the No. 14 Sharks. She had a hat trick in a 9-0 win over Martha’s Vineyard on Wednesday and another in a 9-0 victory over St. John Paul II Monday night.

Caroline Cloutman, Medfield — Tallying four goals in wins against Nipmuc, Weston and Bellingham, the junior is making noise with her hustle for the No. 17 Warriors in the Tri-Valley League.

Caitlin “KK” Hussey, Duxbury — A senior captain for the unbeaten Dragons, she netted three goals in Patriot League wins over Marshfield and Silver Lake.

Kate Schneider, Walpole — The junior scored a goal and added three helpers Monday in a 8-0 shutout of Needham. Last Wednesday, she led the Porkers with two goals in a win against Framingham.
