CROSS COUNTRY

Woodberry Forest Invitational: The Riverbend girls team took the championship in the invitational led by top-10 finishes by Olivia Morra, Sofia Vsioni and Caroline Christy.

The Bears’ boys team earned a third-place showing behind a third-place showing from Justin Rau.

GOLF

King George 186, Spotsylvania 191: Zach Koch carded a 39 to win individual medalist honors and lead King George to a Battlefield District win at Fredericksburg Country Club.

FIELD HOCKEY

St. Anne’s-Belfield 2, Fredericksburg Academy 0: The Falcons lost their first game of the season in nonconference action to visiting St. Anne’s-Belfield. The Saints took the lead two minutes before halftime, then notched another early in the fourth quarter. Fredericksburg Academy (4-1) entertains Foxcroft on Tuesday.

FIELD HOCKEY

Chancellor 9, Caroline 0: Adelyn Watkins had four goals and three assists to lead the Chargers to a Battlefield District victory.

Hailey Waurio and Ellen Gallagher each had a goal and two assists for Chancellor (5-0, 5-1). Makayla Forrester, Sofia Vivas-Romero, and Trinity Mason also scored. Goalie Adrianna Witkowski had 31 saves for Caroline (1-2, 3-3).

Chancellor travels to King George and Caroline hosts Culpeper on Tuesday.

VOLLEYBALL

Caroline 3, Chancellor 1: Riley Forehand led the Cavaliers on the road with 27 kills and 14 digs in a 26-25, 30-28, 23-25, 25-21 victory. Gabby Bristol added 27 digs and Kayla Veney had 35 assists for Caroline (4-2, 2-1) which plays Carmel School on Friday.
