The Myanmar movie which is allowed to show in Vietnam

A Myanmar movie Kan Kaung, which received three academy awards in 2023 and three best awards in 2024 Southeast Asia International Film Festival, has been granted permission to show in Vietnam, according to the film’s director Academy Win Lwin Htet.

Based on Kyal Su Thit’s novel and scripted by Mo Ni Lwin, the movie Kan Kaung was directed by Academy Win Lwin Htet and produced by Khathtiya production.

Paing Takhon, Academy Thu Htoo San, Academy Khin Zarchi Kyaw and Nay Htut mainly starred in it.

“Kan Kaung was allowed to show in Thailand’s 35 cinemas in July and also granted permission to show at 120 movie theaters in Vietnam as of 18 October,” said director Win Lwin Htet.

It is a movie about affection between human and animal, beautifully adorned with Myanmar culture and natural sceneries.

The movie won the best movie award, the best cinematography award and the best film music award in 2023 Myanmar Academy awarding ceremony.

It also won the best movie producer award, the best director and the best actor award in Southeast Asia International Film Festival 2024. – ASH/ZS
