Cate Blanchett Wows in Louis Vuitton at George Clooney’s Albie Awards

Cate Blanchett added sparkle to the 2024 Albie Awards, presented by the Clooney Foundation for Justice in New York City on Thursday. The Oscar-winning actress posed for photos at the event alongside her 22-year-old son, Dashiell John Upton.

For the occasion, Blanchett opted for a black asymmetric sequin cape top with a dramatic aesthetic courtesy of Louis Vuitton. Blanchett coordinated the shimmering top with a pair of leather trousers and black leather pumps, giving the entire ensemble a monochrome edge — a popular choice on several 2024 red carpets.

Blanchett’s son Dashiell posed for a few photos alongside his mother. The 22-year-old, whom Blanchett shares with husband Andrew Upton, wore a classic black suit with a double-breasted blazer, black trousers, patent leather shoes and a black tie set against a white button-down shirt.

Before Blanchett hit the red carpet for the 2024 Albie Awards, the actress made an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” For the occasion, Blanchett re-wore a look from her time at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival last May.

The actress opted for a sequined Louis Vuitton top with skinny leather trousers for her time on the late night talk show. Blanchett’s back-to-back Louis Vuitton looks aren’t such a surprise. The actress has been a longtime supporter of the French luxury fashion house.

In June 2022, Blanchett was named a new brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton for the label’s largest high jewelry collection. The Australian actress starred in campaign images for the Spirit collection, which was photographed by Sølve Sundsbø.

Prior to her appointment as an ambassador to the French luxury fashion house, Blanchett attended several Louis Vuitton events over the course of a decade. Back in 2012, the actress made an appearance at a Louis Vuitton store opening in Rome.

“She’s one of a kind. She transcends culture, she transcends times, she transcends trends. Many things have changed, and she’s there, as relevant as ever,” Michael Burke, who was appointed as the head of LVMH’s Fashion Group last January, said of Blanchett in 2022.
