Maniabandha Gets Best Tourism Village Tag; CM Majhi Greets Residents

Bhubaneswar: Maniabandha- a small village in Athagarh of Cuttack district once famous for handloom products, found a place in the tourism map of India with a new tag ‘Best Tourism Village’.

The Government of India awarded the village as the best Tourism Village -2024 in craft category. This award was bestowed upon the village by the Ministry of Tourism on World Tourism Day.

Maniabandha is the only village from Odisha which won the Best Tourism Village 2024 in Craft category.

Through a X post, chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated the residents of Maniabandha village for achieving the prstigious tag.

As many as 795 villages had participated in the first edition of the Best Tourism Villages Competition in 2023 while in the second edition, a total of 991 applications were received from 30 States and UTs, out of which 36 villages were recognized as winners across eight categories of the Best Tourism Villages Competition 2024.
