Flood: NEMA holds technical meeting on humanitarian interventions

National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Friday, convened a technical meeting of humanitarian sectors to discuss their levels of activation, challenges and identify the way forward towards efficient sectoral interventions in the flood situation across the country.

The Director General NEMA Mrs Zubaida Umar who was represented by the Director Planning Research and Forecasting, Dr Onimode Bandele, said the objective was also to coordinate responses and harmonise data for optimal resource utilisation and efficiency.

She urged the Sectoral Leads to work with other members of their sectors in activating to respond to the relevant areas of challenge faced by flood impacted communities.

Mrs. Umar also affirmed the commitment of the Agency to effectively carry out its coordination roles in disaster management.
