Audi e-tron GT, RS e-tron GT recalled in India over faulty brakes

While the rear brakes would continue to function normally, a loss of brake fluid would trigger a warning.

Audi has issued a recall for the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT electric cars over faulty brakes.

37 units sold in India have been recalled to rectify a potential brake hose defect. Vehicles manufactured between January 9, 2020, and June 12, 2024, have been affected by this recall.

According to Audi, significant tension may be applied by the steering on the front brake hoses over time, which may cause cracks to form near the points of attachment. This may lead to brake fluid loss and sudden front brake failure.

While the rear brakes would continue to function normally, a loss of brake fluid would trigger the notification: “Brakes: stop vehicle and check brake fluid level.”

The Audi e-tron GT was launched in India in 2021. It uses two electric motors; one on each axle. It has 522 BHP and can cover 500 km on a single charge. The RS version packs 637 BHP and a range of 481 km.
