Bangladesh under immense pressure as India try to force a win in Kanpur | Cricket News
India gained complete control of the rain-hit second Test at stumps on the fourth day in Kanpur on Monday.

New Delhi: A T20 style batting performance along with Ravindra Jadeja’s 300th wicket gave India a chance to force a result in the rain-affected second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur on Monday.
After only 35 overs of action in the first three days due to rain and wet outfield, Bangladesh resumed their innings at 107/3 and were bowled out for 233 in 74.2 overs, with Mominul Haque unbeaten on 107 not out to become only the second Bangladesh batter after Mushfiqur Rahim to hit a Test century in Indian.
Jasprit Bumrah’s incisive bowling (3/50) cut through the Bangladeshi batting line-up leading to Jadeja taking the final wicket of Khaled Ahmed, caught and bowled, to be the seventh Indian bowler to reach 300 wickets in his 74th match.
T20 style batting from India
Indian batters then scored at the rate of T20s to declare their first innings on 285/9 in 34.4 overs, after taking a lead of 52 runs Yashasvi Jaiswal (72) and KL Rahul (68) put the home team in a position of strength.
At stumps of the fourth day, Bangladesh were reduced to 26/2 in 11 overs, still trailing by 26 runs with Zakir Hasan (10) and Hasan Mahmud (4) back in the pavilion.
India turmed the match towards them with blazing knocks from all of thir frontline batters. They set the record for the quickets 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 runs by any team in Test history as opener Jaiswal smashed 72 off 51 balls, with the help of 12 boundaries and two sixes.
India brought their 50 in 18 balls and hudred in 61 balls, surpassing the 74 balls they took to reach the mark against West Indies last year.
Jaiswal put together 55 off 24 balls for the opening wicket with skipper Rohit Sharma, who was bowled for 23 by Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Shubman Gill (39), Virat Kohli and KL Rahul (68) all scored with over 100-run strike rates Bangladesh spinners Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed four wickets each.
With more than 30 overs of action remaining, India declared to give them enough chance of bowling out Bangladesh and main inroads as Ravichandran Ashwin picked up the two wickets to fell in his five overs in the second innings to increase iIndia’s chances of a victiry on the final day.
