Field Hockey: Abello named ACC’s Offensive Player of the Week : Jerry Ratcliffe

Virginia field hockey sophomore midfielder Mia Abello was named the Offensive Player of the Week in honors announced Tuesday by the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Abello scored two goals last week, including the game-winner in the fourth quarter of the 1-0 road win at No. 9 Duke. She has scored a goal in each of the last three games she has appeared in.

This is the first career conference honor for the second-year. She is the third Cavalier to be named an ACC Player of the Week this season, joining goalkeeper Tyler Kennedy (defense, 9/10) and midfielder Suze Leemans (offense, 9/10).
