Green Wave Football and Men’s Basketball Moving to The Ticket 106.1 FM and Heaven 106.7 Beginning Oct. 19

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University Athletics and its exclusive multimedia rights holder, Tulane Sports Properties, have awarded flagship radio broadcast rights to Cumulus Media New Orleans in an agreement announced Monday.

The switch to Cumulus Media New Orleans and The Ticket 106.1 FM will be in effect for Tulane’s next football game on Oct. 19, when the Green Wave hosts AAC foe Rice at Yulman Stadium. The contest will also be simulcast on Heaven 106.7 FM.

“When you think of college athletics in New Orleans you think of Tulane. We are ecstatic to be the home of Green Wave Football and Men’s Basketball,” said Pat Galloway, Market Manager and Regional Vice President, Cumulus Media New Orleans.

Following Tulane’s football contest against Rice, all subsequent football games as well as all men’s basketball games will be broadcast on The Ticket 106.1 FM and simulcast on Heaven 106.7 FM, providing Green Wave fans throughout the New Orleans region with full coverage. Green Wave baseball and women’s basketball broadcasts will remain on WRBH 88.3 FM.

In addition to the traditional radio broadcasts, all Green Wave football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball contests will continue to be streamed live on the Varsity Network App, available on both the Apple and Android app stores.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Cumulus Media New Orleans, The Ticket 106.1 FM and Heaven 106.7 for the balance of this football season along with the upcoming men’s basketball season,” Ben Weiner Director of Athletics Chair David Harris said. “Our fans always show great passion following Tulane over the airwaves and this relationship only enhances their ability to do just that.”

As Tulane makes the switch to The Ticket 106.1 FM and Heaven 106.7, football broadcasts will continue to be hosted by the “Voice of the Green Wave” Corey Gloor, Tulane Hall of Famer Steve Barrios and sideline reporter and Tulane graduate Maddy Hudak.

“We take great pride in providing quality radio broadcasts for our Green Wave faithful and are excited to work with Cumulus Media to deliver on that objective,” Gloor said. “Steve, Maddy and I look forward to continue bringing Tulane sports to life on air in this new era on The Ticket 106.1 FM and Heaven 106.7.”

Tulane’s radio broadcast rights are managed by Tulane Sports Properties, the locally based team of Learfield – the media and technology company powering college athletics.
