Uzbekistan and World Bank discuss cooperation in transport sector

AKIPRESS.COM – World Bank Practice Manager for Transport in Europe and Central Asia Shomik Mehndiratta and Chairman of the Board of JSC Tashkent Invest Bakhrom Shokirov held a meeting in Tashkent city administration, UzA reports.

The parties discussed issues related to programs implemented in Tashkent with the support of the World Bank, new areas of cooperation in transport, in particular, improving domestic and regional transport links, as well as private financing of the sector.

They agreed to attract investments for the construction of new roads, coordinateWorld Bank assistance, cooperate in public transport and ensure road safety.
