Energy Transition: India Launches First Energy Transition Startup Accelerator with T-Hub and Transition VC | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: Energy transition-focused venture capital fund Transition VC on Tuesday inked a memorandum of understanding with the Telangana govt-led T-Hub and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) to set up India’s first energy transition-focused startup accelerator. As part of the collaboration, a centre of excellence was also set up at T-Hub in Hyderabad.
'For impactful solutions'
The first cohort of the accelerator will support four to five startups with plans to expand support to around seven to eight startups in the subsequent cohorts.
Transition VC Co-Founder & Managing Partner Mohammed Shoeb Ali said India’s startup ecosystem faced a shortage of energy transition and deep-tech hardware startups, and the partnership aimed to create a supportive ecosystem for entrepreneurs by equipping them with the necessary technical and product development infrastructure.
“Building hardware products in deep-tech requires significant investment in R&D and prototyping, which is often a deterrent for many engineers,” he said.
T-Hub CEO Mahankali Srinivas Rao said the three partners would provide startups with a platform to co-create impactful solutions.
