Dior Lewis Hamilton B44 Blade Sneaker Release Date October – Footwear News

Dior has introduced its new B44 Blade sneaker as part of its exclusive collection with guest designer Lewis Hamilton.

According to the French luxury brand, the new footwear silhouette is characterized by a boldly voluminous silhouette inspired by the 2000s.

Constructed in gradient technical mesh, the B44 Blade sneakers feature tonal technical fabric panels, and a contrasting Blade insert on the sole in reference to the running universe. Promising a sporty, retro-futuristic look, the sneakers feature microfiber and canvas insets and are embellished with the signature “Dior” logo, which punctuates the upper, heel and side of the shoes.

What’s more, the made-in-Italy silhouette is adorned with a Dior and Lewis Hamilton signature charm hanging from an eyelet, while the top, heel and sides are accented by the Dior signature.

The limited-edition style, which retails for $1,400, is available in four gradient colorways – orange, blue, purple and green – and is equipped with an NFC chip. Placed under the sole of the right foot, the chip provides access to a platform to obtain its digital certificate of authenticity. Holders of the certificate benefit from news on future collections. Only 1,947 pairs of each colorway will be released.

The release comes just weeks after Dior unveiled the first campaign images for its lifestyle capsule collection guest designed by the British Formula 1 star. The September campaign release marked Hamilton’s debut appearance in a Dior campaign, following the announcement in July that he was not only joining the ranks of the house’s ambassadors, but also collaborating with Kim Jones, artistic director of menswear, on the clothing range.

In the campaign, the seven-time world champion, known as the most stylish racer in Formula 1, is seen wearing a few footwear models including a pair of blue B33 sneakers with pink laces, and the retro-futuristic B44 Blade style in the orange gradient colorway.

The partnership comes as the seven-time world champion is poised to switch teams to Ferrari in 2025 after 12 seasons with Mercedes.
