In this grand vision, Gujarat emerges as a key contributor, leveraging its status as the most industrialised state in India. The state has historically been a leader in various sectors. The Aatmanirbhar Gujarat Schemes for Assistance to Industries are paving the way for fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and industrial growth, contributing directly to the larger national goal.

The Aatmanirbhar Gujarat schemes support industries of all sizes—from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to large and mega industries. The objective is clear: attract investments, promote local manufacturing, and generate largescale employment opportunities. The government has emphasised creating a favourable ecosystem for businesses by easing compliance norms, reforming regulations for ease of doing business, and providing targeted financial incentives.

SUPPORT FOR MSMES

MSMEs have always been pivotal in the state’s economic framework, particularly in generating employment and fostering growth in semi-urban and rural areas. The state government’s vision for MSMEs under the Aatmanirbhar Gujarat scheme is to help these businesses remain globally competitive and climb the value chain.

Also, MSMEs can receive SGST and EPF reimbursements for new employees, facilitating greater formal employment. These benefits, combined with various assistance programs for quality certification, technology acquisition, and patent registration, ensure that MSMEs can continue contributing to the state’s industrial landscape while staying competitive globally.

Enterprises with capital investments of over INR 50 crore in plant and machinery are eligible for various benefits. These include interest subsidies, net SGST reimbursements, and EPF reimbursements. By encouraging investment in sectors such as electric vehicles, green hydrogen, and pharmaceuticals, the state is positioning itself as a leader in forward-looking industries aligned with global trends and India’s decarbonisation goals.

The benefits are even more significant for mega industries—those with investments over INR 2,500 crore and employing at least 2,500 people. These industries are seen as anchor units capable of building extensive ecosystems around them, creating direct and indirect employment opportunities. With provisions like SGST reimbursement for 20 years and stamp duty reimbursements, the government offers a conducive environment for mega-scale industrial ventures that can impact the state and national economy long-term.

The Aatmanirbhar Gujarat scheme emphasises industrial growth, sustainability, and inclusivity. The government’s focus on encouraging industries to adopt green manufacturing practices and decarbonisation initiatives is crucial for

The Aatmanirbhar Gujarat scheme is more than just an industrial policy; it is a strategic initiative designed to transform the state’s economic landscape while contributing to India’s broader vision of self-reliance. By supporting industries of all sizes and fostering innovation in key sectors, the scheme aims to attract an investment of INR 12.5 lakh crore and create employment for over 1.5 million people in the state.
