PM Internship Scheme: 98,000 Offers By 193 Firms Across 736 Cities In India (How To Apply?) – Trak.in

As part of the Prime Minister Internship Scheme, more than 90,800 internship opportunities have been posted by 193 companies across India. This scheme, announced in the Union Budget 2024, aims to provide internships to 1.25 lakh candidates this financial year and eventually cover 1 crore individuals over five years. Leading companies such as Reliance Industries, Jubilant Foodworks, and Maruti Suzuki India are among those offering internships. The program is designed to create valuable career opportunities for young adults aged 21-24.

Diverse Opportunities Across 24 Sectors

Internships under the scheme are available across 24 sectors, including oil, gas, energy, automotive, and banking and financial services. Other key sectors include travel and hospitality, operations management, production, sales, and marketing. The internships will take place across 737 districts, ensuring widespread coverage across 36 States and Union Territories. This broad geographical spread aims to reach aspiring professionals in both rural and urban regions of the country.

Financial Support for Interns

Interns selected under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme will receive financial assistance of Rs 5,000 per month for a duration of 12 months. Additionally, they will be awarded a one-time grant of Rs 6,000. This financial support aims to ease the burden on interns as they gain valuable work experience in their chosen fields. The program is estimated to cost around Rs 800 crore for its pilot phase, reflecting the government’s significant investment in youth employment and skill development.

How to Apply

Interested candidates can register for the PM Internship Scheme starting October 12 through the official online portal: www.pminternship.mca.gov.in. The scheme will start internships from December 2, 2024, with the registration process offering a streamlined way for applicants to secure placements. This initiative represents a key effort by the government to equip young professionals with essential industry experience, contributing to India’s growing workforce.
