In addition to that, according to Conor McGregor, he went against the trends to bet against Novak Djokovic and in favor of Carlos Alcaraz when they faced each other at the treble. “100k clears 4 million return.. Add that… And I want my money,” said the UFC star through his socials. After calling Spain an amazing place, he praised all Spanish athletes except Ilia Topuria.

Conor McGregor takes aim at Ilia Topuria’s perceived nationality

Conor McGregor’s debut as a promoter was a blockbuster and he appears to be having the best time of his life in Spain. The fighters appear to love the Spanish athletes after what they did for him economically. However, when it comes to Ilia Topuria, things change drastically. According to the Dubliner, he would have bet on Topuria as well but he is not a Spanish in his core as he represents Georgia as well.

“Say I would bet on Topuria, but he is not Spanish; he is Georgian. Let’s be real, I’m Spanish. Ilia Topuria is a Georgian man undercover; he is operating undercover,” said Conor McGregor while having an interview session with the media. He further doubled down on his comments when he went after the featherweight champion, “F*** him, this isn’t his home country, this is my home country baby. Marbella, Spain – where’s he at?! This ain’t his home country, he knows where his home country is and it’s not Espana so good luck Max Holloway – f*** him up!”

Ilia Topuria and Conor McGregor’s story is kind of similar but the Georgian Spanish fighter doesn’t consider McGregor to be a challenge. Regardless, what’s your take on the hubbub? State your thoughts in the comments below.
