Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 Fully Leaked Ahead of Upcoming India Launch

The Interceptor Bear 650 will be the fifth model from Royal Enfield to get a 648cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled engine, which is rated for 46.4bhp at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm at 5,650rpm.

It is not unknown that Royal Enfield is readying its new Interceptor Bear 650, which could make its global debut at EICMA 2024 (November 7–November 10). Essentially the Interceptor 650-based off-roader, the Interceptor Bear 650 will be the fifth model from the company to get a 648cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled engine. While yet to be confirmed, we expect the upcoming scrambler to make its way here sometime after the EICMA debut.

While the price will be announced in due course, we already have images of what seems like the production-ready Interceptor Bear 650 and, according to the images, the bike in question follows a scrambler-like design. While the Interceptor Bear 650 shares a round LED headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a single-piece seat setup, and a tubular grab-rail with the Interceptor 650, the former stands out with a different LED taillamp and turn indicators. Other distinguishing features include wire-spoked wheels, knobbly tyres, and upside-down front forks.

Also visible in the image is a single-pod instrument cluster, possibly a full TFT or an analog-TFT unit with Bluetooth connectivity. Switchable ABS (anti-lock braking system) and USB charging are also on the cards. Hardware-wise, the Interceptor Bear 650 sits on a steel chassis, suspended by upside-down front forks and twin rear shocks, both with more travel than the Interceptor 650. The braking setup consists of a disc at both ends. Being a scrambler, the wheel size should be 19 inches up front and 17 inches at the back.

The Interceptor Bear 650 gets the same 648cc air/oil-cooled parallel-twin engine as other 650cc models, capable of churning out 46.4bhp at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm of peak torque at 5,650rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. What differentiates the new Bear 650 is its two-in-one exhaust, making it the first bike on the 650cc platform to do so.

Royal Enfield will likely position the Interceptor Bear 650 above the 650 twins. Considering that, expect it to be priced in the range of Rs 3.40–Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
