India, Colombia review cooperation on environment

The meeting focused on key global issues such as climate change and biodiversity.

During the talks, Singh expressed his best wishes to Colombia for the upcoming United Nations Conference on Biodiversity, to be held in Cali from October 21st to November 1st. He also shared details of the national campaign under the name of “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” (“A tree in the name of the mother”), an initiative that seeks to promote environmental responsibility while honoring respect and devotion to mothers.

As part of his activities in India, Vice Foreign Minister Jorge Rojas co-chaired the tenth round of consultations between foreign ministries together with Jaideep Mazumdar, secretary of the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting comprehensively reviewed cooperation in trade and investment, energy and infrastructure including railways, collaboration in health and pharmaceuticals, traditional medicines, digital technology and space, consular affairs, education, culture and people-to-people relations, among other issues.

The delegations of the two countries expressed their satisfaction with the progress achieved in different spheres and agreed to explore new paths of cooperation.

The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia also met with the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, L. Murugan, and both signed an agreement on audiovisual co-production which will allow film producers from both countries to use a platform for collaboration in various aspects of filmmaking.
