Skaneateles football defeats Solvay (photos, video)

Skaneateles football defeated Solvay 35-16 at home Friday to improve to 6-1 on the season.

The Bearcats led the game 16-6 after the first quarter, but the Lakers shut out their opponent the rest of the game. Quarterback Torin Bennett threw for two touchdowns and ran for another two, with 124 yards on the ground. Colin Henry added 121 yards on 12 attempts for an average of 10.1 yards per carry on the night. Catching scores were Luke Bruna, Reid Danforth and Brady Ellis. 

Anchoring the Skaneateles defense were Ellis and Bruna with seven and five tackles, respectively. Danforth, Cole Krauter and Landen Brunell recorded interceptions, and Henry had a sack.

The Lakers will host Marcellus, also 6-1, next Friday at 6:30 p.m.
