Virat Kohli flew down to Mumbai immediately after India lost the 1st Test vs New Zealand in Bengaluru on Sunday and attend Krishna Das Kirtan with wife Anushka Sharma on Karwa Chauth.

Former India captain Virat Kohli didn’t hang around his adopted home town of Bengaluru for too long after India’s eight-wicket loss to New Zealand in the first Test of the three-match series, dashing back to Mumbai to meet his wife and Bollywood star Anushka Sharma and kids.

Kohli and Anushka were seen attending Krishna Das Kirtan in Mumbai on Sunday evening. The couple have previously attended the Krishna Das Kirtan in London as well. The video of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma attending the Krishna Das Kirtan in Mumbai soon went viral on social media.

Kohli had earlier completed 9,000 Test runs en route to scoring 70 in the second innings of the first Test in Bengaluru. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter had also completed 27,000 international runs – the fastest batter to achieve this feat, ahead of Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar.

The Indian batting star had put on 136 runs with youngster Sarfaraz Khan, who scored his maiden Test hundred in the game. Sarfaraz went on to score 150 and put on 178 runs with Rishabh Pant, who scored 99, on Day 4 of the Test match. But a collapse with India losing last 7 wickets for 54 runs meant that New Zealand only need 107 to win on the final day to complete their first Test win on Indian soil since 1988.

Sunday was incidentally also Karwa Chauth and Kohli possibly wanted to spend this Indian festival with his wife Anushka. Krishna Das, originally named Jeffrey Kagel, began his spiritual journey in the 1960s. He travelled to India and became a disciple of Neem Karoli Baba, whom both Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli follow.

Kohli and Anushka had hot married  on December 11, 2017 and have one daughter – Vamika – and one son, Akaay, together.
