As per the memoranda of understanding, NIU and the Malaysian universities will collaborate on areas critical to global research and sustainability.

The bilateral research collaborations will focus on submitting joint research proposals in cutting-edge fields, including material science and engineering technologies, hydrogen production and energy storage, carbon footprint and sustainable development goals, and agricultural innovations using advanced tools and techniques.

Moreover, the partnerships will foster high-impact research output through joint publications in leading journals and patent generation.
According to a statement by NIU, the collaboration will also emphasise the importance of building a culture of creativity and strengthening research temperament among students and faculty.

“We will be identifying thrust areas of research relevant to global and local challenges and create need-based research facilities that align with the priorities of both institutions,” Dr. Uma Bhardwaj, vice chancellor, NIU, told The PIE News
