Raymond Lifestyle to hire 9,000 workers for upcoming stores, says Gautam Singhania

Indian apparel brand Raymond Lifestyle has announced that the brand will be opening hundreds of new stores and will be recruiting 9,000 workers for the same, Group Chairman Gautam Singhania reportedly said.

With nearly 900 outlets in the pipeline, the brand intends to hire 10 people per store, on average, Singhania added. As per reports, Raymond will be hiring people for the factories aimed at increasing its garmenting capacity. Raymond has also shared that a fair share of global clients including apparel chains like  JC Penney and Macy are ‘moving to India’ to meet their ‘requirements’.

The brand chairman also mentioned that the Lifestyle segment of Raymond is exploring the fast fashion space in India and taking notes from Tata Group-owned Zudio in this segment.

Raymond’s apparel line started back in 1925 with the brand also having a presence in the real estate and engineering industries. The lifestyle division of the brand was started earlier this year. This move was aimed at simplifying the structure of the group and helping attract investors.
