Attrakt files $14.5 million lawsuit against Warner Music Korea for tampering with Fifty Fifty members

Attrakt, agency of Fifty Fifty, files lawsuit against Warner Music Korea for large damages.

On October 23rd KST, Attrakt, the agency of the group Fifty Fifty, announced that it has filed a lawsuit seeking damages in the amount of 20 billion KRW (approximately 14.5 million USD) against former Warner Music Korea CEO Jin and current executive director Yoon. They are accused of tampering by allegedly contacting the members before the expiration of their contracts.

Attrakt stated, “Warner Music Korea played a significant role in the tampering process during the contract dispute involving the former members of Fifty Fifty. On May 17, 2023, Warner Music Korea held a tampering meeting with the former members’ parents at their headquarters, and we have secured key evidence from that time.”

The agency emphasized the significant damage caused by the unlawful actions, which hindered the normal activities of Fifty Fifty. Attract declared it would hold the former CEO Jin and executive director Yoon fully accountable for their involvement.

Attrakt’s CEO, Jeon Hong Joon, commented, “The fact that a subsidiary of Warner Music, one of the three major global record companies, attempted to take away the valuable artists of a small Korean entertainment agency is an unforgivable and shameless act. The actual amount of damages is higher, and we plan to increase the claim beyond 200 million USD.”

In June of last year, Attract initially announced a suspension of activities due to the members’ health issues. During this time, they claimed that external forces, later identified as Warner Music Korea, attempted to approach the members and induce them to violate their exclusive contracts with the agency.
