“India of 2024 is not that of 1962”: Arunachal CM Pema Khandu

Guwahati, Oct 23: Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday asserted that India of 2024 is not that of 1962 and that India has advanced by leaps and bounds.

Khandu made the remark during the inauguration of the Kameng Culture and Heritage Museum, a landmark institution celebrating the rich cultural diversity and heritage of Arunachal Pradesh.

Khandu clarified before the mediapersons that he is not issuing any threat or he is not promoting any war. “India of 2024 is not that of 1962. India has advanced leaps and bounds,” he said.

Located in the scenic village of Nyukmadung, Dirang, along the route to Tawang, the museum promises to play a pivotal role in preserving the cultural legacy and contributing to socio-economic growth of the region.

The Kameng Culture and Heritage Museum is expected to become a key educational and cultural hub, drawing scholars, researchers, and tourists from around the world. By promoting tourism and fostering cultural appreciation, the museum will significantly contribute to the local economy while standing as a proud symbol of identity, heritage, and resilience for both the State and the Nation.

The museum inauguration ceremony was also attended by Kamlesh Paswan, Union Minister of State for Rural Development, Lieutenant General Gambhir Singh, General Officer Commanding of Gajraj Corps, Maj Gen Neeraj Shukla, SM, Blazing Sword Division.
