IITM celebrates 25 years, gathering 100+ exhibitors to showcase travel, tourism, and hospitality innovations in Mumbai from October 23-25.

MUMBAI, INDIA – Sphere Travelmedia & Exhibitions celebrates the 25th year of the India International Travel Mart (IITM) in Mumbai, running from October 23 to 25 at Nehru Centre, Worli. This event, a hallmark in India’s travel and tourism sector, serves as a premier platform for professionals in travel, tourism, and hospitality to network and showcase their offerings.

IITM is India’s premier trade exhibition that brings travel, tourism, hospitality, leisure and other related industries under one roof. It aims to bring the industry, face-to-face with the travel trade, corporate buyers and the end-customers. The event will see the participation of travel agents and tour operators, DMC, hotels and resorts, national tourism offices, technology platforms, online travel portals, etc.

With more than 100 exhibitors from across 15 Indian states and 5 international destinations, IITM 2024 promises to bring together a diverse array of travel and tourism options—from cultural experiences and adventure tourism to wildlife excursions and pilgrimage routes. For those in the travel trade and related industries, IITM provides an exceptional opportunity to engage directly with potential partners, expand portfolios, and explore new avenues for collaboration. Emphasizing on domestic & outbound tourism, it boosts the upcoming Christmas holiday and promotes the diverse tourism segments around the world.

Marking its 25th anniversary, this year’s IITM stands as a pivotal platform for businesses across the travel ecosystem to establish partnerships and explore growth opportunities. Attendees will include travel agents, tour operators, hotels, resorts, national tourism boards, online platforms, and more.

IITM is promoting responsible tourism and wellness at an exhibition showcasing eco-friendly initiatives, community-based projects, and conservation efforts to protect India’s heritage. Over 15 Indian states and 5 countries are participating, showcasing their destinations and services.

India’s economy remains strong, with a 7.2% GDP growth in the 2022-2023 fiscal year, driven by strong domestic demand and government spending. The IMF projects 6.3% growth for both FY24 and FY25.

Tourism is booming in India, with travel becoming an essential part of the lifestyle, especially for younger generations. The rise of the middle class, increased disposable income, and a shift in cultural views have fueled this growth. The pandemic also sparked a desire for travel, leading to a surge in demand for new experiences. Domestic travel plays a significant role in the Indian tourism industry, contributing to the sector’s recovery from pre-pandemic lows. Indians are exploring the country’s diverse landscapes, from the Himalayas to the coast, boosting domestic tourism.

Welcome to the heart of travel innovation,” said Rohit Hangal, Director of Sphere TravelMedia. “This exhibition not only celebrates our past achievements but also sets the stage for the future of travel through new opportunities and partnerships. It is a meeting point for the world’s best minds in the industry, driving sustainable practices, technological innovation, and global partnerships.”

Adding to this, Sanjay Hakhu, Director of Sphere TravelMedia highlighted, “India’s evolving travel landscape offers immense potential, particularly in outbound tourism, as more Indian travelers seek unique global experiences. IITM serves as a vital hub, bringing international destinations closer to Indian travelers and fostering growth for the future.”
