(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) Dulquer Salmaan’s much-anticipated ‘King of Kotha’ arrived in theatres with immense hype but ultimately received mediocre reviews from the audiences and didn’t make any positive impact at the box office.

Following the film’s lukewarm performance, speculation arose over the actor’s choices and the considerable break he took from Malayalam cinema.

According to On Manorama, in response, Dulquer addressed the matter taking full accountability for the film’s outcome and pledging to work harder on future projects.
Reflecting on the film’s journey, Dulquer shared, “That film was a big dream for us. We were the ones who created it, which is why we invested so much effort into making it grand. “
Dulquer further said that the director Abhilash Joshi was his old friend and it was his debut film, indirectly that the director will be making a strong comeback with her next project.
The ‘Lucky Baskhar’ actor said that sometimes, a project can become too ambitious and the dream they had set during that time might have gotten away from them.
Dulquer went on to express that when a film doesn’t succeed, he shoulders the responsibility as the lead actor. “If a film fails, it’s my responsibility because I am the one carrying it. I will be in the headlines related to that movie.”
Further, the talented actor said that if the audiences complain or if one of his films doesn’t turn out to be a success, he is the only one who is responsible.
The actor has made a firm decision after ‘KOK’s failure, “Next time, I will work harder.”
Dulquer’s next film, ‘Lucky Baskhar’, directed by Venky Atluri, is scheduled for release on October 31.
