South Waziristan kicks off month-long grand sports festival

A Grand Sports Festival is currently underway in Upper and Lower South Waziristan, taking place from October 1 to November 1 across ten different venues.

The festival aims to promote positive recreational activities among youth and bring the community together.

The first phase of the festival, running from October 1 to 22, has seen over 100 local teams participating in cricket, volleyball, and football matches. The excitement continues with the second phase scheduled from October 24 to 29, featuring inter-school competitions.

The festival has attracted not only young athletes but also a large number of children and seniors who are enjoying the various activities.

The third phase will culminate in Wana, where in addition to traditional sports, events such as tug-of-war, circus performances, cultural dances, and a fair will be held, further enriching the community experience.

This festival stands as a beacon of hope, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition among the youth of South Waziristan.
