Bahrain Eastern Music Institute Opens in Asilah City – Gulf Insider

The Bahrain Institute for Eastern Music was inaugurated in Morocco, with the participation of Nabeel bin Yacoub Al Hamer, Advisor to His Majesty the King for Media Affairs, and Mohammed bin Issa, Chairman of the Asilah Cultural Forum.

The establishment of the institute is supported by Bahrain and reflects the deep historic relations betweenthe two kingdoms, which are fostered by the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco.

The opening took place as part of the 45th International Asilah Cultural Season, organised under the patronage of HM the King of Morocco.

The institute aims to train young musicians from Asilah and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, focusing on both general music principles and eastern music, including the foundations and development of Arab and Moroccan music. Students will also study musical theory, instruments, and other audio effects.

The foundation stone for this music institute was laid during the 42nd edition of the Asilah Cultural Festival.
