Dallas and LA now on the map, Air India, Dallas, Los Angeles, new routes, US flights, long-haul, travel, winter, travel news

Air India is all set to expand its long-haul travel destinations with two new cities. The airline is planning to launch two new routes to Dallas and Los Angeles from New Delhi, starting December 1, 2024.
Below is the schedule for the new routes
– Delhi to Dallas: Flights leave Delhi at 4:00 AM and return at 2:40 PM.
– Delhi to Los Angeles: Departing Delhi at 5:00 AM, with return flights arriving at 1:55 PM
Air India will most likely deploy its jumbo B777 on both the above routes as a part of its winter schedule.
The route from Delhi to Dallas spans over 13,173 kms, the airline will fly over Russia and Atlantic and take over 15 hours to complete the journey. The Delhi-LA route spans 12,896 kms with the airline taking similar route.

Air India serves five US cities as of now: Chicago, Newark, New York, San Francisco, and Washington. No other airline flies non-stop from Delhi to Dallas or Los Angeles, giving Air India an exclusive presence on these routes. The last new US route Air India introduced was to San Francisco in 2015.

As a part of its summer schedule of 2024, Air India flew 120 weekly flights to US. Going ahead, Air India is planning to add me North American destinations like Seattle.

Air India operates the following non-stop flights to US

Delhi – New York JFK/ Newark / Chicago / Washington DC and San Francisco, Mumbai – San Francisco / New York JFK / Newark and Bengaluru – San Francisco.

Apart from Air India, American Airlines and United Airlines also operated a few flights on the India-US route. American Airlines operates New York JFK – Delhi non-stop from the US side, and United operates Newark – Delhi

Meanwhile the airline has also planned significant changes in its winter schedule 2024, starting from October 27 to March 29, 2024.

Post Vistara integration, Air India will have 120 aircraft in its fleet with 67 widebody aircraft giving the airline to freedom to expand its international destinations to full capacity. As a part of the winter schedule the airline will expand its Delhi-Toronto flights to twice daily flights on B777-300. The airline will introduce its latest A350 aircraft on Delhi-New York route from November 1 and Delhi-Newark route from January 2, 2025.

About 60% of Air India’s US flights will now feature new or upgraded cabin interiors. This includes the Airbus A350 deployment for the first time and the replacement of legacy aircraft on US routes with newer models that have better cabins.
