Sana’a – Saba:

Judge Ibrahim al-Shami, Deputy Minister of Justice and Human Rights, met on Saturday with Fatima Lanqi, Senior Advisor to the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, to discuss enhancing cooperation on humanitarian issues.

The meeting included ministry leaders and Mohammed al-Ghannam, Director of the UN Envoy’s office in Sana’a, along with Political Affairs Officer Ahmed al-Awjri.

Judge al-Shami emphasized the importance of achieving a just and lasting peace for Yemen and building trust with the UN and international organizations.

He expressed concern that the United States is obstructing the peace process, citing Yemen’s humanitarian stance on Gaza and Lebanon.

Al-Shami affirmed the government’s readiness to facilitate UN efforts to address Yemen’s deteriorating humanitarian situation.

He also highlighted that aggression from the US, UK, and allied nations has led to significant civilian suffering in Yemen over the past ten years.

The Deputy Minister called for an independent international committee to investigate and hold accountable those responsible for war crimes.

Lanqi noted that the meeting is part of the UN’s ongoing efforts to support a comprehensive political process aimed at achieving a lasting solution that meets the aspirations of all Yemenis.
