Vande Bharat Express News: In a major update, the Indian Railways has informed that the periodicity of the New Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Express train has been extended. Amid the rising demands for tickets during the festive season, the decision to introduce the semi-high-speed promises to clear the extra rush. Presently, this is the country’s longest-running Vande Bharat Express train.
The development was confirmed by the Himanshu Shekhar Upadhay, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Northern Railway (NR). “For the convenience of the rail passengers and to clear extra rush during Festive season, Railways have decided to extend the periodicity of Vande Bharat Festival Special Train,” he said.
The New Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Express Special Train will composed of 8 car coaches. It will have two types of accommodations. These are – the AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car. For travelling in AC Chair Car, a passenger has to pay Rs 2575 while the fare for Executive Chair Car between New Delhi and Patna is Rs 4655.

- The New Delhi-Patna-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express train has been running with full occupancy since its introduction.
- Earlier, it was decided that train number 02252/02251 New Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Express Special Train will cover 4 trips in each direction till November 6.
- On October 30, the train services began from New Delhi railway station and from Patna Junction on October 31.
- The Vande Bharat train will now operate till November 20.
- During the extended period, the train will start its journey from New Delhi railway station on November 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, and 20.
- In its return journey, the Vande Bharat Express will leave Patna Junction on November 9, 11,14,16,18, and 21.
- The New Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Express Special Train will cover a distance of 1000 km in 11:35 hrs.
- It will be the second fastest train on the route after the New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar Terminal Tejas Rajdhani Express, which covers the same distance in 11:30 hrs.
According to the railway officials, the New Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Express Special Train will stop at five stations enroute. These are – Kanpur Central, Prayagraj Junction, DD Upadhyaya Junction, Buxar, and Ara Junction.
The New Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Express Special Train will depart from New Delhi at 08:25 hrs to reach Patna Junction at 20:00 hrs. However, on its return journey, the train will depart from Patna Junction, the next day, at 19:00 hrs to reach the national capital at 07:30 hrs.
