Tom Holland is set to appear in an upcoming, untitled movie from celebrated director Christopher Nolan. Since his debut as Spider-Man in the MCU, Holland has starred in six Marvel movies, which include blockbuster mammoths such as Avengers: Infinity War and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Part of what makes his involvement interesting is Marvel’s reputation for secrecy with its movies, especially since Holland has been known to reveal a bit too much about his work before it’s released. In the first few years of Holland’s time as Spider-Man, there were plenty of moments where he revealed too much about an upcoming MCU movie.

One of the most memorable moments of Holland spoiling major MCU story details was just before the release of Avengers: Infinity War in April 2018. Holland appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live with various Avengers co-stars, including Robert Downey Jr., Zoe Saldana, Pom Klementieff, and Paul Bettany. Moments after being singled out as the cast member everyone is always worried about spoiling things, Holland revealed that Spider-Man goes to space in Avengers: Infinity War, which was a major plot point from the then-unreleased film.
Holland accidentally spoiling MCU movies became such a regular occurrence that Marvel Studios seemed to lean into it. In June 2018, Holland posted a video on his Instagram, in which he “accidentally” revealed the title of the second MCU Spider-Man movie. Ever since the video was posted, many pointed out that Marvel most likely just wanted to reveal the title of Spider-Man: Far From Home in a different way, and thought it would be funny for Holland to spoil yet another MCU secret.

Spider-Man has developed as a character within the MCU, and Holland has also developed immensely as one of the most popular actors in the franchise. In the build up to 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, a movie featuring some of the biggest moments in the entire MCU, Holland was much more restrained when talking to the media.
