The two clubs who previously triggered Ruben Amorim’s release clause have been revealed.
Following the departure of Erik ten Hag, United have moved to appoint Sporting Lisbon boss Amorim.
Amorim will become United head coach on November 11, subject to work visa requirements.
Other major clubs have previously attempted to secure the services of the 39-year-old.
Amorim, who previously managed Braga, had been highly sought after after developing a reputation as one of Europe’s standout young coaches.

As reported by A Bola, West Ham and Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr previously triggered Amorim’s release clause.
Liverpool had identified Amorim as a potential candidate to replace Jurgen Klopp but didn’t intend to pay the release clause and ended up appointing Arne Slot.
West Ham then attempted to appoint Amorim but were unable to convince him to take charge of them. The Hammers appointed Julen Lopetegui in May to succeed David Moyes.
In September Al-Nassr, who include Cristiano Ronaldo in their squad, were willing to pay Amorim’s release clause and offer him a contract that would be worth close to €20million (£16.8million) a year.
However, Amorim declined the offer, with Al-Nassr appointing former Milan boss Stefano Pioli instead.
Amorim’s first game as United boss will come away to Ipswich on November 24.
Prior to the official announcement of his appointment by United, Amorim outlined his reasons for wanting to take a step forwards in his career.
He said: ‘I think that in everyone’s life, in yours too, there are phases in which we’re doing very well in life, but then we want something more, maybe to prove something more.

Al-Nassr, whose stars include Cristiano Ronaldo, considered appointing Amorim as manager
‘We have to take a step forward in things that destabilise us, that we don’t know if it’s going to work or not.’
United, who are currently being coached by Ruud van Nistelrooy on an interim basis, are at home to Chelsea on Sunday.
The Red Devils are in 13th place in the Premier League following a concerning start to the season under ten Hag.
