Presented today in Milan, the new arrival will be produced at the Suzuki Motor Gujarat plant in India, in spring 2025, while sales are expected to begin in various countries, including Europe, India and Japan, in summer 2025.
“The e Vitara – declared Toshihiro Suzuki, president of Suzuki Motor Corporation – is our first Bev, developed through an in-depth process of continuous improvement, with the aim of creating a car that is easy to use for our customers. To create a As a carbon-neutral company, we will provide customers with a variety of choices including BEVs, hybrid vehicles and CNG vehicles, tailored for specific regions.”
At the heart of the e Vitare is the eVX concept, presented in January 2023 at the Auto Expo in India and at the Japan Mobility Show in October of the same year. Based on the Emotional Versatile Cruiser concept, the Vitara focuses on an innovative design and electric powertrain, as well as the Allgrip-e electric all-wheel drive, combining off-road capabilities and performance. All on a newly developed Heartect-e platform specific for Bevs.
On the design front, the common thread combines the cutting-edge look of a BEV and the robust nature of an SUV.
The exterior features a design featuring large diameter tires and a long wheelbase, while the interior features an integrated display with advanced features and panels and center console with robust coverings.
The Bev thruster consists of the eAxle system and a lithium-iron-phosphate battery. The eAxle (electric axle) system integrates the motor and inverter, along with lithium iron-phosphate batteries designed to ensure safety and reliability. The system allows for smooth acceleration from a standstill and more decisive acceleration when overtaking from low to high speeds.
Driven by two eAxles, independent electric axles, one at the front and one at the rear, ALLGRIP-e technology is an electric all-wheel drive system that takes advantage of Suzuki’s experience in 4WD technology. This system provides high performance and also allows precise control of the vehicle.
In Trail mode, you can smoothly exit difficult terrain by applying braking force to the spinning wheels and distributing the drive torque to the opposite tire (LSD function).
“The introduction of the e Vitara – added Suzuki – represents a significant milestone in achieving carbon neutrality.
Following the launch of the e Vitara, we will continue to expand our BEV range and offer mobility solutions tailored to the needs of specific countries and regions.”
