Directing movies has brought new challenges and joy to my career

Emelia Brobbey has heaped praises on her versatility in the entertainment field, expressing excitement about stepping into the roles of director and producer for her own films.

In an interview on One Ghana TV, Emelia passionately discussed her transition from acting to directing, stating her pride in her new role behind the camera.

While she has prior experience in production, she noted that directing has presented a fresh learning curve.

“Even now, as I explore directing, I’m constantly learning from him. His passion and meticulous attention to detail keep me grounded and inspired,” she said, highlighting her mentor Samual Nyamekye’s valuable impact.

Her latest film not only marks her directorial debut but also presents a unique acting challenge.

“In this movie, I had to play the husband of Mr. Nyamekye,” she laughed, recalling the initial difficulty of portraying a role opposite someone she views as a father figure. “It took me out of my comfort zone, but that’s the beauty of directing and acting, you adapt, find your character’s truth, and bring that to the audience.”
