OVC Men’s Soccer Championship Field Set

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The 2024 Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Soccer Championship field is set.

This marks the second year of men’s soccer in the OVC and the second time the event was predetermined to be on the campus of SIUE. The Championships features six of the league’s eight teams.

The eight OVC men’s soccer teams are divided into two scheduling pods, with each team playing the other teams in its pod twice during the season, and teams in the other pod once. The tournament format gives the winner of each pod a first round tournament bye. Seeds 3-6 are based on total points, regardless of scheduling pod.

Regular season champion SIUE finished the season with the top record in the league (8-1-1) and earned the No. 1 seed and a bye to the semifinals which will be played on Wednesday, November 13. The No. 2 seed, who also gets a bye to the semifinals, will be HCU.  The Huskies were 5-2-3 and finished at the top of the other scheduling pod (which included Liberty, UIW and Western Illinois).

The No. 3 seed Lindenwood will take on No. 6 seed Western Illinois in the First Round while No. 4 seed Liberty will challenge No. 5 seed UIW in a rematch of the regular season finale in which the two teams played to a draw. Those games will be held on Sunday, November 10.

Lindenwood, who is reclassifying to Division I, is eligible to win the OVC Tournament Championship. Should the Lions win the tournament title, the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament shall be awarded to the tournament runner-up.

The Championship Match will be played on Saturday, November 16 at 6 p.m. CT.

 

The entire championship will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Wednesday, November 13

Match 3 – Winner Match 1 vs. #2 HCU, 3:00 p.m. (ESPN+)

Match 4 – Winner Match 2 at #1 SIUE, 6:00 p.m. (ESPN+)

 

Saturday, November 16

Match 5 – Semifinal Winners, 6:00 p.m. (ESPN+)
