Chanel O’Conor has revealed her thoughts on competing in a potential all-villains’ season of Drag Race.
For this week’s episode of Drag Race UK season six, the eight remaining contestants – Chanel O’Conor, Marmalade, Lill, Rileasa Slaves, Kyran Thrax, Lill, Actavia and Charra Tea – flexed their best celebrity impersonations for the beloved Snatch Game challenge.
Like seasons past, there was one goal in mind: to make RuPaul laugh – which the majority of the queens achieved during their hilarious performances.
Ultimately, La Voix and Kyran were named the winners of the maxi-challenge, while Rileasa and Chanel were placed in the bottom.
After an electric lip-sync to Girls Aloud’s iconic song ‘Something Kinda Ooh,’ Ru asked the Scottish queen to sashay away from the competition, much to the disappointment of fans.
“Chanel honestly gone too soon, her mug was delectable and she brought the drama,” one viewer wrote on Twitter/X after the episode’s release.
Another fan echoed similar sentiments, tweeting: “Tonight we lost the diva to end all divas. RIP Chanel O’Conor, gone but never forgotten.”
Following her elimination, Chanel opened up to GAY TIMES about all things Drag Race UK season six, including her reaction to being labelled a “villain”.
“Well… It is the reality that, when you’re given a title, it’s tradition that you wear it with honour and pride,” she said.
“My vibes are, whatever that show gives you and whatever it puts out, there’s no point backpedalling or trying to steer the narrative. If you want to see me as a villain, then I shall be the villain.”
In addition to embracing her new label, Chanel revealed the queens she would want to compete against for a theoretical all-villains’ season of Drag Race.
“If we’re being frank, the villains are A’Whora and Vinegar [Strokes]. With a name like that, it’s perfect. Vinegar the Villain,” she exclaimed.
“I’d say we have quite a fabulous cast of individuals who just tell it how it is, and maybe some people can’t handle it, some people can. But the reality is, I think it would be an absolute carnage, gladiator battle.
“It’d be fun… who’s fussed about the winners when you can get the most evil and wicked individuals in the room together and see which one actually lives?”
