Louis Vuitton in the doghouse over £50,000 kennel unveiled in brand’s ‘couture’ collection for pooches
They say a dog is a man’s best friend – but do they really deserve a designer kennel?
Louis Vuitton has been blasted on social media for releasing a special-edition kennel trunk priced at a staggering £52,500.
The controversial dog house is part of Pharrell Williams’ latest men’s collection for the French luxury fashion house which is based on ‘urban dog-walking couture’.
Planned to be unveiled in Spring/Summer 2025, the ‘Dog LVers’ collection includes a a dog collar (£340), a paw keychain (£600) and a monogrammed drinking bowl (£1,570).
But the item that has dedicated dog owners hot at the collar is the £52,500 Kennel Trunk.

The £52,000 designer kennel creates the illusion of a house, with a roof and windows, removable doors, and an easy-to-clean interior.
It is even covered in Louis Vuitton’s signature monogram canvas.
Customers have taken to social media to poke fun at the dog house, with one saying: ‘They’re just going to p*** on it or tear it up.’
Another commented: ‘My dog is okay sleeping on my bed.’
A third added: ‘You can get a good house at that price.’
Singer-songwriter Pharrell Williams was made Creative Director of Louis Vuitton menswear in 2023.
After launching his first collection at Paris Fashion Week last year, the Happy singer’s next Spring-Summer collection is clearly taking the brand in a different direction.
The Spring-Summer 2025 pre-collection is an ‘ode to the canine-keeping community’ and explores the ‘cosmopolitan culture of dogs and their walkers.

Customers have poked fun at the dog house, with one saying: ‘My dog is okay sleeping on my bed’
The Kennel Trunk listing reads: ‘Pharrell Williams has transformed the House’s traditional hard-sided case into a magnificent dog house.’
It continues: ‘The ultimate luxury item for man’s best friend, the Kennel Trunk creates the illusion of a house, with a roof and windows.
‘Very functional, the door is removable and the bottom of the trunk can be opened for easy cleaning.’
The kennel also comes with a monogrammed coated canvas, a cowhide leather trim, Vuittonite lining, gold-colour hardware and a hidden hatch on the bottom for easy cleaning, according to the luxury fashion brand’s website.
