The possibilities of strengthening the relationship between education, science and production were discussed at an international conference in Ashgabat

On November 5 in Ashgabat within the framework of the International Conference “Development of construction, industry, energy the fifth and final session on the theme “Technological innovations and personnel training for construction, industry and energy of Turkmenistan” was held, dedicated to strengthening the relationship between education, science and production.

It was attended by heads of sectoral ministries and departments of the country, domestic entrepreneurs, rectors, teachers, students of Turkmen universities, as well as representatives of foreign companies.

Opening the session, the participants noted its modern relevance and special importance in relation to the fulfillment of the instructions of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, announced on September 24 at the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan. These include the creation of modern educational institutions and technology centers in priority areas of science and innovation, as well as the development of effective methods to strengthen scientific, educational and industrial interrelationships in higher education institutions.

In the speech of the Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Azat Atayev spoke about the ongoing work on the introduction of an entrepreneurial model in universities, which will allow universities to actively engage in the commercialization of scientific developments of students and young scientists. It was noted that many universities around the world, which occupy leading positions in international rankings, successfully use this model. In a proposal was made to create industrial councils at universities with the participation of employers, representatives of executive authorities and private companies.

The proposal was supported by the participants of the session, according to whom, such a mechanism will allow universities to take into account the current demands of the labor market, focus scientific research on the practical needs of industries, as well as direct their developments to create products with a high level of added value to further strengthen the competitiveness of the national economy.

As an example of a successful approach to knowledge commercialization, it was noted that a significant part of the leading companies included in international ratings, such as Standard & Poor’s and the Fortune 500 originated in university laboratories. This highlights the importance of the entrepreneurial model of universities and the concentration of young professionals to create innovative products.

Representatives of the country’s universities shared examples of successful scientific research and achievements that can serve as a basis for creating high-tech products and improving production efficiency. It was emphasized that the developed technologies cover such areas as biotechnology, environmentally friendly materials, renewable energy and digital solutions for managing production processes.

The speakers of the forum focused on the importance of technology development within the country, as the added value modern industries are increasingly dependent on technological innovations. With this in mind, the participants noted the need for Turkmenistan to form its own technological base for the development of high-tech industries.

Following the results of the session, the following proposals were outlined: the development of educational programs aimed at training specialists for technologically oriented industry, the expansion of interaction between universities and industrial enterprises; active participation the International Science and Technology Park in innovative projects, the development of cooperation with international organizations; the expansion of public-private partnerships to attract investment and technology exchange, the creation of joint research platforms to support the development of key industries. The results of the fifth session of the forum demonstrated the desire to Turkmenistan is striving for sustainable growth through the integration of innovations, training of young professionals and strengthening international cooperation.
