News: IIT Delhi and CRIS combine to transform Indian Railways through cutting-edge research

IIT Delhi and the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) have signed an MoU to drive transformational research for Indian Railways. This partnership harnesses IIT Delhi’s technological expertise to enhance railway safety, efficiency, and connectivity through interdisciplinary projects, positioning Indian Railways as a cutting-edge, sustainable transportation leader.

Under this MoU, IIT Delhi researchers will lead a range of R&D initiatives designed to elevate the safety, security, and efficiency of the railway network.

Key focus areas include advanced scheduling, enhanced intermodal connectivity, safety measures, and revenue optimization, all geared toward making Indian Railways a more efficient and resilient entity.

Faculty members from various IIT Delhi departments, including Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, and Management Studies, will contribute to this partnership. Their combined expertise will help address the diverse challenges within railway infrastructure, bringing an interdisciplinary approach to achieve impactful solutions.
