The Prime Minister will participate in the 29th UN Climate Change Conference in Baku
Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze will take part in the 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) on November 11-13, which will be held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
According to the information of the press service, the leaders participating in the conference will be hosted by UN Secretary General António Guterres and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Within the framework of his visit to Baku, the Prime Minister of Georgia will hold a face-to-face meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Irakli Kobakhidze is scheduled to deliver a speech at the COP29 leaders’ summit, as well as panel discussions, which will be held in a round table format on various topics.
The 29th UN Climate Change Conference will focus on assessing the impact of climate on both humanitarian and economic life. Leaders are debating on actionable steps to help reduce emissions among them, without which the severe effects of global warming will be impossible to avoid.
The Prime Minister of Georgia will participate in COP29 together with the delegation, which includes First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili and Head of Government Administration Levan Zhozholiani.
