Warriors earn All-GPAC honors

No. 20 Midland volleyball can celebrate more fruits from its regular season that produced it’s fifth-straight postseason appearance

Six Warriors were named to an All-GPAC squad highlighted by Brooklynn Snyder being named the conference’s Freshman of the Year.

Snyder was also named to the First-Team All-GPAC list alongside senior Abbey Ringler.

Snyder led the Warriors with 323 kills, hitting .174 in her first year with the program.

Ringler hit .273 this fall, notching 201 kills.

Jacki Apel, a fifth-year senior from Bellevue, Nebraska, and Delanie Vallinch, a senior from Papillion, Nebraska, were named to the All-GPAC Second Team.

The Warriors also had two players earn honorable mention in juniors Cameran Jansky and Kailyn Scott.

Midland assistant coach Micah Rhodes also took home the GPAC Assistant of the Year honor.

A time was also set for the Warriors postseason clash with Dakota State Tuesday. The NAIA Tournament opening round match-up will start at 1 p.m. Saturday with the winner advancing to the final site of the NAIA National Volleyball Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.

Garcia-Rosado Duran nabs top offense honor

Midland junior Hugo Garcia-Rosado Duran’s offensive onslaught this fall netted him the GPAC Offensive Player of the Year honors and a spot on the All-GPAC First-Team. He was one of four Warriors honored by the conference.

Garcia-Rosado Duran lead the conference in scoring with 12 goals and four assists in 17 games.

Hugo Sjoeberg, the Warriors’ sophomore goalkeeper, joined Garcia on the First-Team. The sophomore started every game and played all but 17 minutes this fall. He led the GPAC with 89 saves with a 73.6% save percentage.

Sophomores Adnan Boulaghmal and Lucas Foreman were named to the Second-Team. Boulaghmal netted 10 goals while Foreman started all 19 games and scored twice as a defender.

Matheus Nascimento earned honorable mention recognition after contributing two goals and two assists during the season.

Trio of women’s soccer players make Second-Team

The Midland women’s soccer team placed three athletes on the All-GPAC Second-Team.

Rosa Schellmann, Addison Castellanos and Jaya Soor were selected from Midland.

Schellmann tallied four goals and two assists. Castellanos anchored the defense while scoring one goal and recorded 11 shots on goal in 2024.

Soor contributed six goals and one assist from her midfield spot.
